O’zapft is’! It’s that time again when our community gathers to savor life and revel in Southwest Florida’s grandest celebration – the 38th Annual Cape Coral OKTOBERFEST!
The German American Social Club eagerly prepares for ‘Munich in Cape Coral’ after a brief hiatus due to Hurricane Ian last year. The Southwest Florida community is warmly invited to THE event where you’ll find joy, delectable food, German beer, live music, laughter, and dancing – from Polka to Fliegerlied, to the Chicken Dance. In essence, Oktoberfest embodies the very essence of German heritage, or as they say in German, ‘German Gemütlichkeit.’ It’s a time cherished by the German American Social Club, eagerly awaiting each year to extend their invitation to the community. Come, celebrate with your ‘clan’ or ‘crew,’ your significant other, or even embark on this adventure solo – rest assured, you’ll make kindred spirits at this festival!
With authentic music imported from Germany, beloved local bands, German cuisine, and, of course, beer, there’s ample fun for all ages. So, bring out your dirndls, dust off your lederhosen, and join us for a legendary experience of stein-slurping with your ‘beste Freunde’ (best friends), including those you’ve just met.
This year’s festivities take place on October 20, 21, and 22, as well as 27, 28, and 29 – the final two full weekends of the month. The entire community will unite for some ‘Gaudi’ – thigh-slapping, exuberant fun where everyone feels embraced and part of something extraordinary. Whether you seek a bratwurst and beer to enjoy in the Bavarian Gardens, want to partake in the merriment and dance beneath the grand tent, or prefer a full German feast of Sauerbraten or Schnitzel inside the Von Steuben Hall, we’ve got you covered.
Our doors open on Fridays from 4 pm to midnight, Saturdays from noon until midnight, and Sundays from noon until 8 pm.
New this year is the VIP experience, featuring exclusive seating, beverage specials courtesy of our sponsor Jägermeister, a seated meal inside the Von Steuben Hall, an authentic HB beer stein with refills, and more!
This year, after overcoming flight cancellations, the members of the Maselheimer Musikanten, the renowned big band that captivated our community in 2017, will be joining us, alongside KaBeGl, also hailing from Germany.
Our lineup also includes local favorites like The Boots, Deb & the Dynamics, A’Finnity, and acclaimed acts such as Pitbull of Blues. Additionally, introducing a newcomer this year, the Dottie Kelly Band, a finalist at the IBC Memphis. We also have Cape Coral’s very own Hafenkapelle, Manni Daum Trio, and many others! With continuous toe-tapping music across three stages – in the tent, the gardens, and inside the Edelweiss Hall – there’s something to delight every ear.
Exploring the festival, you’ll find outdoor vendors, culinary delights offering both German and international cuisine, or you can relish a sit-down dinner inside the Von Steuben Hall. Oktoberfest offers a plethora of photo opportunities as well.
